Jewelry Making Workshops
Fold Formed Rings Class
This is a one day class in which you will learn how to create interesting fold patterns in metal and make amazing rings. Those who are more adventurious may wish to create an anticlastic version of this ring as well (flared edges up). I have just added in a gingko leaf design that would be fun to try as well. Good class for all skill levels.
Next Class: Sat Sept 9th from 11 to 4ish pm
Native American Style Jewelry Weekend
This is a 2 day class set up to explore making jewelry with the Native American flare: from stamps to shot plates to twisted wire serrated bezels around stones for a pendant or ring variation. Both beginners to advanced students will enjoy the huge variety of styles to accent your own amazing creations. We will forge ahead to make either a ring or a pendant (maybe both if your experienced) using a cabochon stone set in a bezel For time purposes will use premade bezels, so that we can spend time exploring all the other processes that fall under the Native American style. Base metals are included, however i highly recommend sterling silver and I will have sterling silver on hand for sale as well as turquoise and other stones. You are free to bring your own silver or stones if you wish please inquire with Ria about details that will work best for metal thickness and stone sizes. About a week before the class, Ria will email everyone some design ideas so that you can think about what you can create, a lot of this class focused on how to design and be flexible to change your design while in the process.
Here is a photo of what the last class of students made click here.

Private lessons with Ria Smith
If you are not able to make a specific class time or if you have your own idea and would prefer to do a Private lesson with Ria Smith that is an option.
Here are some details...
* Private lessons are 3 hours long and start out at $175 (base metals included, if you need sterling it will be available for sale) After the first 3 lessons the price of Private lessons goes down to $150 for a 3 hour session.
* We would work together to find a time that works for both our schedules...(note: weekends are generally taken up with Classes)
*Best to contact Ria with any questions of designs or ideas that you have.
Please note as of now, Ria is on a short break as she has just moved into a new home so will be taking some time off for the summer but hopes to be in full swing at the end of August. Thank you. :)
The Spinner Ring Class
This is a slightly more intensive one day workshop that is 5 hours long. You will create 2 different rings and then attach one ring onto the other so that it spins around on it without coming off. Many different varieties can be made. If you have made rings with Ria in the Twisted ring class you can use any of those rings to be the "spinner" ring. It is recommended that you may have had one other class with Ria or any metalsmithing class before this but it is not necessary. Base metals are included. Sterling silver is on hand if you would like to purchase it.
